Dead Rockers Birthday Spectacular Details

Alright, So here's the latest Show concept idea from Sean..

On June 11, 2010 - Grave Disorder will host the first ever "Dead Rocker's Birthday Spectacular".. Now what exactly could that mean? This is a show that's all about the People (You!) and The Stars and Idols who have come before us - So, here's the deal. First, go look up what song was "#1" on the charts, on your birthday. (Year included.)

Then, Pick out a famous rockstar, movie star, Model, CEO, Politician, Midget, Porn Star, Whoever.. Whose birthday you know (or is Readily accessible.) .. And look up the song that was big on THEIR birthday.

Here's an example. A bad one, but an example, nonetheless.

My birthday was January 27th, 1983. I looked it up via http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/birthdayno1

My Result?

Men At Work - "Land Down Under" (USA & UK)

Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (Australia)

My Celebrity? Since most of the celebrities i would LIKE to feature a song about were pre-1930 (The cut-off year!), I picked Wednesday 13's birthday. August 12, 1976

S-S-S-Single Bed (Fox) for Australia

Don't Go Breaking My Heart - (Elton John & Kiki Dee) for the USA & UK

So there you go. Let's see what you can come up with - And Don't forget to submit the songs to me NO LATER than June 5th! That'll give me plenty of time to get a playlist together! Simply email me twisted@renegaderadio.net!

This should be fun.. Or Really confusing, one of the two. Enjoy!

-Stay Groovy.

Dallas VS LA: Final Round! L.A's HEAD PE vs Dallas's FEEL NEVER REAL!

Via Renegade Radio's own Jemini -
There has been much confusion during the semi-final rounds of Dallas vs LA. Allow this write-up to hopefully clear up that confusion and serve as documentation for what we know. During the first semi-final round, Feel Never Real went up against The Orphanage for what we originally thought was going to be the extended voting just like all of the other previous 8 rounds of the contest. After nearly a month between phases of the competition, the extended voting part of the competition was forgotten and the votes for only the first night of semi-final round 1 were counted. Having no clue that this took place until well after the first round, we continued to spread the word and encouraged people to vote like they have been doing for the past 8 rounds. Luckily though, Feel Never Real still legitimately won the first evening of voting thanks to Texas fans casting E-Request votes, and LA people being so impressed with that they heard that they voted for FNR. Then, round 2 of the semi-finals came around. The Bright was supposed to go up against Vains of Jenna. Days before the first segment for round 2 was to air, Jeff Duran decides to pull VOJ from the round due to their lead singer change and replaces them with LA band Head PE. Not finding this out until the day the first segment aired, the street team quickly changed the information in the places we had it posted. Still thinking that the extended voting was in place, we spread the word accordingly. The day after the first segment airs, the street team was informed that the extended voting was dropped and the voting period shortened to the first night of voting. On top of that, we were informed that Head PE received the most votes that night winning over The Bright. We had no idea what to say or do next other than to just move on with everyday business and continue to promote the shows as usual on Renegade until we had an explanation from Iceberg as to what all was going on. Now that we have that information, we can inform you about it. It was found that the cause of all this confusion was a lack of two very busy people not being able to keep their communications consistent. Now that both parties are aware of the problem, they have fixed it and apologize profusely for the miscommunications. We are all still learning how to promote something like this contest as well as how to deal with various people on all levels to keep things on the same page. If Renegade decides to do this again, we will definitely take what we have learned and improve upon it. In the mean time, it is time to take what we have learned, move on, and finish what we started. For the final round of Dallas vs LA, Feel Never Real will represent Dallas and Head PE will represent LA. The Bright, despite the loss, will have other opportunities to work with 100.1 The Edge and RenegadeRadio.net as Jeff Duran and Iceberg are always here to help. Now to prepare you for the final round by providing you with all the details. The final round will take place TONIGHT (that's Friday, May 14, 2010) not the typo of June 14th at 6:20pm cst (4:20 pacific) on 100.1 The Edge. This will be a winner take all situation with ONLY ONE NIGHT OF VOTING. After the segment airs at 6:20pm central time (4:20 pacific) on http://www.edge100.com/main.php, cast your vote in one of two ways: 1. By calling 100.1 The Edge's request line at 661-947-6950 and casting your vote for Feel Never Real's song "A Taste of Truth". If you can't get through, keep trying. If you still can't get through, go to step number two. 2.Casting your vote via e-request by going to http://www.edge100.com/content_page.php?pid=requests, entering your name, age, gender, Artist Name (Feel Never Real), Song Name ("A Taste of Truth") and pressing the Submit button. Flood the phone lines and bombard the E-Request page. You will only have a couple of hours max to get your vote in after the segment airs, so if you can't get through on the phone lines, send an E-Request. Whether you are a Bright fan, a Paco fan, Project H fan ...if you are a fan of Texas music, we strongly urge you to support Texas music and vote for the Dallas band. It is time to show LA what Texas music fans are made of. Now get ready to make your voice heard and VOTE FOR FEEL NEVER REAL!! FOR TEXAS MUSIC!!!!
